FUNERAL ATTENDANT

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
•Greets and receives client families and/or other persons entering the funeral home for information and assistance.
•Accommodates the needs of the family during a service and/or visitation.
•Serves as an usher and may park cars or perform any transportation requirements.
•Ensures refreshments are available (where allowed by law).
•Assist with visitations, memorial and funeral services which may include; visitation and chapel set up, delivering family items and flowers.
•Prepares for services to include setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos and other personal keepsakes or mementos of client families; ensures proper care and storage of any of these items.
•Performs office duties such as answering phones and operating copy machine.
•Run errands for floral delivery, picking up of supplies, documents, etc.
•May wash and clean funeral home vehicles and other client vehicles as required from time to time.

REQUIREMENTS
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•A strong desire to start a career in mortuary science/end of life planning preferred but not required.
•Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
•Possesses valid state driver's license.
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and customer service skills.
•Ability to interact and collaborate effectively with others in a team atmosphere.
•Possesses a high degree of concentration and attention for a continuous period of time.
•Able to occasionally stand/walk and frequently lift or push.
