Alternative Container Personalization
The Funeral Sociology class participated one of their favorite projects, Alternative Container personalization. The seniors were divided into teams, and each team was given a scenario of the decedent. It was up to the team to decorate the alternative casket in such a way as to celebrate and memorialize that person.
The Spring 2017 graduating class listened to Aaron Scott of Scott Funeral Home in Jeffersonville, Indiana talk about making removals and they participated in learning how to operate a one man cot. Aaron is Chairman of the Mid-America College Advisory Board. Our thanks to class members Cody Hill who is associated with Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Homes Inc. and Kaelin Brock who is associated with Scott Funeral Homes for bringing in transfer vehicles and cots for the training and to Aaron Scott for taking time out of his busy schedule to share his funeral profession knowledge with our Junior Class.
