Ken has a rich history of work experience: 17 years as a city manager, five years as a U.S. Army officer, three years as a state government public health emergency manager, and three more years as a county government public health emergency manager. Additionally, he has owned and operated his own business. He has been teaching college classes as an adjunct off and on since 1988.

Ken is the author of the book, Managing your City or Town, published by University Press of America, 1994. He is married to the former Candace Wells, of Louisville, KY. They have been married 45 years and have three grown sons and five grandchildren.
