Admission Procedure
A student may obtain an application for enrollment directly from the Admissions Office by written or telephone request.  A student may also fill out the online application from this website.  The completed application should be returned to the College as far in advance of actual enrollment as possible.  As processing usually takes three to four weeks, an application should be submitted to the Admissions Office at least thirty (30) days prior to enrollment.

Educational Requirements
Educational requirements are prescribed by statute as well as rules and regulations of the funeral service licensing board of the state in which a student desires to obtain licensure following graduation from Mid-America College. It is essential that an applicant be familiar with these requirements before enrollment. As licensing criteria vary considerably from state to state, it is strongly recommended that the applicant contact his state licensing board or the Admissions Office to insure compliance with such well in advance of the anticipated enrollment date. A listing of state funeral service licensing agencies is found on Pages 30-31 of the Catalog.  An applicant must comply fully with all rules and regulations required by the licensing board of the state in which he or she wishes to practice prior to enrollment. Otherwise, an applicant will not be accepted for admission into the College.  The minimum requirement for admission in all cases is high school graduation or its equivalent.

Application For Admission
The Application for Matriculation should be filled out completely and returned to the Admissions Office.  In addition, the following items are required for admission to the College:

A high school transcript, or it's equivalent, certifying graduation and official academic transcripts from all other educational institutions previously attended by the applicant. Official transcript(s) must be sent directly to the Admissions Office from all colleges previously attended.
A $50.00 Application Fee (non-refundable) must accompany the application.

The applicant will be notified in timely fashion of the disposition of the application by letter or by telephone from the Admissions Office.

Registration (See Catalog Supplement)
There are two registration dates each year; one in early fall and one in early spring.  The actual registration dates are published well in advance.  The student is encouraged to be present on the actual enrollment date as an orientation period is provided to make the adjustment to the College and community as easy as possible.  The student should plan to arrive a day or two early to get settled before college work begins.

Late Registration
No student may enroll after the tenth (10th) class day following the first day of any academic quarter.

Resumption of Training Following Interruption
A student may resume training at his or her level of achievement following an interruption of studies.  If a student resumes training within one (1) calendar year following interruption of studies, the published college policies, rules, and regulations in the Catalog that were in effect at the time of his or her initial enrollment will govern the student throughout the remainder of the course of instruction.  The cost of tuition, books and supplies, and miscellaneous fees will be assessed at current rates.  Should a student resume training after one (1) calendar year following interruption of studies, the college policies, rules, and regulations published in the Catalog at the time that training was resumed will govern the student throughout the remainder of the course of instruction.
