MEET the Board... the President  

Michael Ray Johnson, son of Brenda Fadely and the William “Bill” Johnson was born and raised in Henry County, Indiana. He has been serving families and community members in Henry County and other various surrounding areas for the past several years.

He is a 1988 graduate of Knightstown High School, and attained an associate degree through Mid-America School of Mortuary Science graduating in 2004.

Mike began his career in the funeral service industry in 1998 at a rural Henry County funeral home. He was selected as a member to the British Institute of Embalmers. He is a licensed Indiana funeral director, embalmer, and a licensed life insurance agent. He is in the process of attaining his Kentucky funeral director and embalmer licenses and will finish in September 2008. He has been appointed and currently serves as president of the Mid-America college of Funeral Service Alumni Association as a lifetime member and is an active member of the school board of directors for the Mid-America College of Funeral Services. He serves as members of both the Indiana Funeral Director Association and National Funeral Director Association. He resides in Hancock County, IN where he and his family are in the process of developing a funeral home/cemetery combination. He is an ordained Baptist minister and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Greenfield, IN. He is also a member of the Sons of The American Legion. Michael has a son named Zachary (wife, Amy) who is an active member of the 82rd Airborne in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina and a granddaughter Kaylynn, who all play a very active and important role of his life. He also has a sister Lori (husband-Brian) Sorrell of Greenfield, IN. He enjoys collecting toy tractors, being outdoors, riding his Quarter Horses, and collecting muscle cars. He believes that personal attention, compassion, and details are important in serving a family.

The mission of the Mid-America College of Funeral Service Alumni Association is to provide a network of communication and resources for graduates and students; be a strong support system for the college; and aid each graduate and student to further themselves in the funeral profession.
